PhotoMaraton Istanbul, one of Istanbul's traditional photography meetings, will bring together photography and video enthusiasts for the ninth time on Sunday, October 18, 2026.

The starting and meeting point of the event, which will be held on Sunday for the first time in its history this year, will again be Sirkeci Train Station.

At PhotoMaraton Istanbul, organized by FOTON Association with the main sponsorship of Sony, participants will take to the streets of Istanbul and express their perspectives through photographs and videos, in line with the themes to be announced during the day. The same theme will turn into hundreds of different interpretations and stories in different parts of the city.

This year the competition will be held in four different categories:

Digital Photography Category — 9 Themes (sponsored by Sony)

Mobile Photo Category — 3 Themes

Analog Photography Category — 2 Themes (sponsored by Ilford)

Video Category — 1 Theme (sponsored by Sony)

The Analog Photography Category will be held with films sponsored by Uzman Kimya / Ilford.

PhotoMaraton Istanbul; It is a big photo marathon that brings together professional and amateur photographers, mobile photo producers, analog photography enthusiasts and video content producers on the streets of Istanbul on the same day.

The works that the participants will send to the competition must be produced in line with the announced themes on the day of the event. Participation in all themes is mandatory to complete the marathon. All details regarding the application, work upload and evaluation processes are included in the competition specifications.
