Caribou make warm, melodic dance music: looping synths, live drums and Dan Snaith's soft, high voice. The band plays Istanbul later this month as part of the Garanti BBVA Genç concert series.

Who Is Caribou?

Caribou is the long-running project of Snaith, a Canadian musician. His albums have moved from the psychedelic pop of Andorra (2007), winner of Canada's Polaris Music Prize, through the club-influenced Swim (2010) and the Grammy-nominated Our Love (2014), to Honey (2024), his most dance-floor-focused record.

If you're new to him, start with "Odessa," a spare, bass-led song, or "Can't Do Without You," which repeats one line over a slowly building groove.

Caribou and Daphni

Snaith also records as Daphni, an alias he has used since 2011 for music aimed at DJs and clubs. The two names met on "Waiting So Long" (November 2025), a Daphni single featuring Caribou and the first Daphni track with Snaith's vocals. The latest Daphni album, Butterfly, came out in February 2026. Caribou also appears on Fred again..'s "Facilita" (October 2025).

The Live Show

On stage, Caribou is a four-piece band playing both traditional and electronic instruments, backed by a full lighting and video production. After more than 1,000 shows on five continents, their festival history includes Coachella, Primavera Sound and a headline slot on Glastonbury's Park Stage in 2025.

At End of the Road festival that same year, the set opened with fifteen instrumental minutes under black-and-white optical illusions. Set lists change, so Istanbul may look different.

Seeing Caribou in Istanbul

You don't need any Turkish for this one, and the ticket page is in English. The show is billed as "stand-on-stage," so the main tickets are for standing on the Turkcell Stage itself rather than sitting in the seats.

It also suits a weeknight better than most late shows do at the start. Doors open at 19:30 and Caribou aren't on until 21:30, so there's time to come straight from work and eat at Zorlu first. The end is the harder part: the band is scheduled until about 23:45, and metro service generally stops around midnight with no night trains on a Tuesday. Check your last train or plan on a taxi.

For students, the discounted ticket below is worth a look. Istanbul also comes just before dates in Bangkok, Singapore and Jakarta.

Before You Go

  • Schedule: Doors 19:30, Alican 20:00–21:15, Caribou 21:30 to about 23:45. Times may change, and entry may be restricted once the event has started.

  • Tickets: As of 6 November, Early Bird tickets were ₺1,450 and Super Early Bird (₺1,250) had sold out. There is also a limited Garanti BBVA Genç ticket for ages 18–25 at 25–50% off, which requires a valid student ID, so check that yours qualifies. Prices and availability can change.

  • Age: 18+. Under-18s can buy a restricted-view seated ticket (₺999 as of 6 November) and must attend with a parent. Everyone needs a ticket, whatever their age.

  • ID: Bring a physical ID card, driver's license or passport. Screenshots and digital images aren't accepted.

  • Getting there: Take the M2 metro to Gayrettepe, which connects directly to Zorlu PSM, or the Metrobus to Zincirlikuyu. If you drive, the venue advises arriving at least an hour early. New to the city? Start with our Istanbulkart guide.

  • Good to know: Large backpacks and suitcases go to the cloakroom, and professional cameras aren't allowed. The show may use intense lighting, lasers and strobes, which may not suit people with epilepsy.
