Givers & Takers: The Smileys Way. 🫵

Every community has givers and takers.

Givers show up. They welcome newcomers, support events, introduce people, share information, help others, and contribute to the community.

Takers mostly ask, “What’s in it for me?” They enjoy what the community offers but rarely give anything back.

At Smileys, we believe communities work best when everyone contributes something.

You don’t have to organize events or volunteer every week. Sometimes being a giver simply means saying hello to someone new, supporting a host, showing up, sharing useful information, or helping someone feel welcome.

Because Smileys isn’t a service. It’s a community.

We don’t expect everyone to contribute in the same way. But we do expect people to respect the community and the people who make it possible.

And if you think you might be a taker, don’t worry.

It’s never too late to become a giver.
