Smileys Community is growing — and Bodrum is our next destination. 🌊☀️

Smileys was created around a simple idea: make life less painful and more smile. We believe that meeting the right people, discovering new activities and having a social circle can make a huge difference to the experience of living in a new city.

After building an established community in Istanbul, we started asking ourselves: Where should Smileys go next?

Bodrum quickly stood out.

Why Bodrum?

Bodrum is more than a holiday destination. It has developed into a place where locals, expats, digital nomads, entrepreneurs, international visitors and long-term residents come together.

It has something that fits naturally with the Smileys philosophy: people actually want to get out and do things.

The sea, beaches, sailing, restaurants, nightlife, outdoor activities and relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle create endless opportunities for people to connect in real life.

And that is exactly what Smileys is about.

🌍 An international lifestyle

Bodrum has a strong international character. People come here from different countries and backgrounds, sometimes for a few weeks and sometimes for many years.

For someone arriving in a new city, however, finding people to socialize with isn't always easy.

You might know where the best beaches are, but who are you going with?

You might want to try sailing, hiking, a new restaurant or a sunset drink, but who do you ask?

That's where Smileys comes in.

From Istanbul to Bodrum

Smileys Bodrum isn't a separate social network or a brand-new community starting from zero.

It is part of the existing Smileys Community.

Members in Bodrum will become part of the wider Smileys network, while having a local community focused on what makes Bodrum special.

The goal is to create opportunities to meet people through:

One of the most important things about expanding Smileys is that we don't want to simply copy Istanbul and put it somewhere else.

Every city has its own personality.

Bodrum should have its own hosts, its own activities, its own favorite places and its own community culture.

We want local members to help shape it from the beginning.

If you love sailing, organize sailing.

If you know the best hidden restaurant, bring people together for dinner.

If you're into hiking, create a hike.

If you simply want to meet interesting people over a drink, organize a hangout.

Smileys is member-driven.

Bodrum, let's get social

We're excited to see what Bodrum Smileys becomes.

We're looking for people who live in Bodrum, spend their summers here, work remotely, have recently arrived, or simply want to expand their social circle.

We're also looking for local hosts and activity organizers who want to help build the community.

This isn't about creating another tourist club.

It's about creating a place where locals, internationals, expats and digital nomads can meet, connect and enjoy Bodrum together.
