Sunset from Karaalioğlu Park

Tea at the cliff edge, the whole gulf below, and the Beydağları mountains turning purple across the water.

Why do it?

Central Antalya sits on top of sea cliffs, and Karaalioğlu Park is the long green balcony where the city takes that in: benches and tea gardens right on the edge, the Mediterranean below, and the wall of the Beydağları range rising across the gulf. The sun goes down behind those mountains, not into a flat sea horizon, and the light show on the peaks is better for it. This is where you learn Antalya's real backdrop is vertical.

The Smileys Take

Order a çay, claim a cliff-edge bench, and stay through the last light — it works in January as well as June, and in high summer it's the hour the city finally exhales. Hıdırlık Tower is at the park's Kaleiçi end, so it chains perfectly onto an old-town evening. Costs nothing, and it's the first place we take visitors who think Antalya is only hotels and beaches.
