Escape the Crowds

Upper Düden: walk behind the waterfall

A shaded park in Kepez where a path leads into the cave behind the falling water.

2–3 hoursa hot afternoon — the spray is the point

Why do it?

Before the Düden river makes its famous leap into the sea, it surfaces at Düdenbaşı in Kepez and pours over a travertine ledge into a green, shaded gorge — and a path lets you walk into the cave behind the curtain of water. The park around it is one of the coolest places in the city on a hot day, in the literal sense: spray, shade, and the roar of water while the rest of Antalya bakes.

The Smileys Take

Save this one for the brutal months — in July and August it's the city's natural air conditioning, and going behind the falls is the kind of small adventure that makes a weekday evening feel like a trip. Expect local families and picnics rather than a wilderness experience; that's part of its charm. Easy to reach from the center without a car.

The Smileys community does things like this every week — organized events, spontaneous hangouts, and visitors looking for company.
