Why do it?
The çarşı packs fishmongers, pickle shops, olive counters, coffee roasters, and some of Türkiye's most celebrated regional cooking into a few walkable blocks. It's less a market than an edible museum with free samples.

Come hungry and order small everywhere instead of sitting down once. The Anatolian dishes at the market's famous lokantas are the headline — but the supporting cast of turşu (pickle) juice, a wood-fired lahmacun, and a Turkish coffee finish is what you'll remember.

- Regional Anatolian lunch at a çarşı lokanta (this is the sit-down moment)
- Pickle juice from a turşucu — braver than it sounds, better than it sounds
- Finish with Turkish coffee in the Moda direction
Good to know
- The ferry from Karaköy or Beşiktaş is the correct arrival
- Most counters are cash-friendly and queue-based — no reservations anywhere
- Tuesday and Friday add the open-air neighborhood pazar for produce
