Every evening the grass slope and sea rocks of Moda fill with students, families, guitars, and picnic blankets facing the sun as it drops behind the old city. It's Istanbul's most democratic front-row seat.

This is a bring-your-own experience — pick up snacks in Kadıköy çarşı on the walk down. The concrete jetty gets the classic photo; the grass above the rocks gets the better evening.
